Your High Tea Experience

What to expect on the day of your High Tea!

365 nights a year, up to 31 families sleep at Ronald McDonald House in Randwick, coming and going to and from the Sydney Children’s Hospital each day to be close to their children when they are receiving vital treatment.

What your ‘High Tea Party’ experience will look like?

1.45pm – Arrival and Sign in

2.00pm – Induction and House Tour

2.30pm – Introduction to Kitchen, food preparations begins

3.30pm – High Tea is served served

4.30pm – High Tea concludes, pack up/wash up commences

5.00pm – Afternoon concludes (approximately)

Once High Tea is prepared, all group members are encouraged to sit together with the families in the dining room to enjoy the afternoon tea together.

Kitchen clean-up is included as part of your experience and it’s important that all team members assist with the clean up.

Don’t forget to bring plastic containers for left overs!

Some important facts about the day

The High Tea Party caters for volunteer groups of 8-10 people where you have control of the kitchen, preparing and cooking for up to 40-50 people to serve food at 3.45pm!

Also while some kids may not want Afternoon Tea, why not ask a few of your members to consider organising activities for the children such as games or face painting or you may have a magician in your group?

This amazing and unforgettable, hands-on experience provides an opportunity for team building, while you and your colleagues pay it forward to seriously ill children and families.
