365 nights a year, up to 31 families sleep at Ronald McDonald House in Randwick, coming and going to and from the Sydney Children’s Hospital each day to be close to their children when they are receiving vital treatment.
What your Working Bee Day will look like
To have the best experience, this is what your Working Bee will look like:
8.45am – Arrival and Sign in
9.00am – Induction & House Tour
9.15am – Working Bee commences
1.00pm – Working Bee concludes
Tea, Coffee, water and soft drinks are available at the House and are complimentary, however you will need to provide your own morning tea if you wish to have these at the House on the day.
Your main champion in your organisation will have briefed you about this amazing and unforgettable experience. It’s really important that you complete the Volunteer Declaration Form prior to the due date set by your main champion.

The Working Bee is a great opportunity to help us ensure our House is kept clean for our families.
This amazing and unforgettable, hands-on experience provides an opportunity for team building, while you and your colleagues pay it forward to seriously ill children and families.
Location: Ronald McDonald House in Randwick, 149-151 Barker Street, Randwick NSW 2031
Groups of 8-10 people can volunteer for this program. All volunteers must be 18+ years old.
There is no parking available at our House; it is for families staying at our House or food drop-offs only. We advise street parking or paid hospital parking located underneath Prince of Wales (just a 5-minute walk away).
No. RMHC Sydney will provide you with a Volunteer Declaration Form link to be completed by each participant. This must be completed 72 hours prior to your booking. If not completed the volunteer cannot participate.
We encourage all participants to capture photos of their group in action in the House.
Photos of families and children staying at the House however are not permitted. Participants are asked to be mindful of family privacy.

If you need to cancel your Corporate Volunteering experience, there is a 21 day cancellation policy for your dinner booking. You must notify us immediately.
Cancellations made 21 days or less from your Corporate Volunteering experience will result in the full donation going to RMHC Sydney as a cancellation fee.
If you need to move dates, you must inform us 14 days prior to your dinner booking.
If you inform us within 14 days or less from your Corporate Volunteering experience, this will result in an extra charge of 50% of your donation fee.
We hope you understand as our families rely on these dinners after a stressful day at the hospital. All the funds will go to support the House and our families
While visiting RMHC Sydney we ask that you and your team are mindful and understanding of families and their circumstances while visiting the House.
Despite being under tremendous emotional stress, families welcome your support and contribution. It is not appropriate to ask questions about a child’s illness or why a family is staying at the House in Randwick.
Important details on infection control
The majority of children staying at the House are immune-suppressed due to the hospital treatment they are receiving. Everyday illness can cause devastating outcomes for these children.
Children staying at the House must not be put at risk of contracting any illness through contact with visitors to the House.
It is extremely important that all participants are free of infection or illness and practice a high degree of hygiene at all times while visiting the House.
Participants must also be free from coughs, colds or any viral illnesses, and have had NO contact with chicken pox, measles or gastro illnesses in the last three weeks.
If any member of your group is unwell or has come in contact with any of the above medical conditions, they must not attend the House – there simply are no exceptions.

Parents don’t know when their children will need medical help. But they should know they can always access the care they need. And with your help, we can support them all throughout their journey.
